Signature project is project-based learning providing students an invaluable experience to pull all taught essential GIS skills, ranging from Select By Attributes, Selection By Location, Query, Digitization, and others to Model Builder to Suitability Analysis in to one in-depth thematic investigation. While working through such investigation, critical thinking, spatial analysis, and communication through geoInquiries (asking questions geographically) are integral and instrumental. ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online are used to equip students gain the most recent software specific knowledge and project management skills. Each semester, students in G261 Introduction to GIS have done fabulous jobs in their Signature Projects. Here are selected examples from 2021 Spring Semester.
